You want to know how big Kraid actually is? Let’s put it this way, I actually had to shrink his sprite in order to get him to fit entirely in panel. And I usually triple size Metroid and Chrono Trigger characters.

Why am I imagining Kraid having a deep, British voice?...Oh yeah! 'Cause it's funny! He-he. I love doing that.

Reply RazorD9, January 5th, 2007, 8:59 pm

Never realized how much of an over grown Iguana that over grown Iguana is... I think one word truly fits in this case. DAMN!

Reply Angel85, January 5th, 2007, 10:58 pm

I know! why don't they just step back about 15 feet so they're out of arm reach. Its not like he can chase them, fat sack of crap.

Ok, I'm oversimplifying...what could Kraid do in the boss fight? smack you with his hands, shoot crap out the holes in his stomach...i forget what else he does.

kraid is realy big. if he sits there can be a earthquake

Reply Dark-Chaos, January 6th, 2007, 6:55 am

Yeah, Kraids a big guy alright. I remember the first time I fought him on Super Metroid.
I wounder if the Space pirates cloned him to be that big or Nintendo retconed him to be that big.
Oh and Kraid with a British accent. I hope you're not talking about that posh stereotypical British accent. Because that wouldn't fit Kraid at all. Plus it's EXTREAMLY anoying to the British. -.-

Kraid also threw exploding claws at you in the fight and the Space Pirates didn't clone him to be that big, he's ALWAYS been that big, he appears in the original Metroid game at that size. Teh Space Pirates just keep cloning him cause he's apparently useful to them, although unlike Ridley they never give him enhancements :P

who's bigger,
Kraid or Metal Devil? =p

Reply Dark-Chaos, January 6th, 2007, 5:57 pm

DementedKitsune Kraid WAS NOT that big in the original game. He WAS that big however in the remake. In the original game he was barely any bigger then Samus, the same went for Riddly.

You know FAR too much about video games Dark-Chaos.

Reply Tisel Bonne (Guest), January 6th, 2007, 11:47 pm

considering you fight a 'younger' (read: smaller) kraid outside his boss room in super metroid, the one in the origional probably just wasnt fully grown.

Reply Sonow, January 8th, 2007, 12:51 am

Corey No. He just knows stuff OTHER THEN everything sonic-related, ya damn fanboys.

Reply Dark-Chaos, January 9th, 2007, 2:02 pm

Sonic, Megaman, Metroid. Those are my best. Also although it is possible that the smaller Kraid in Metroid 3 is just like what Kraid was like, it is more likely this was the 'fake kraid'. I say this because even though both Kraids were the same size, Metroid Zero Mission retcon'd to have him large.

I thought Kraid was big in Smash bros melee...

"He's one big flab! YOu'RE A GIANT LARD-BALL! What're you gonna do, giganto, sit on me?"
"Don't tempt me."

Get In Mah Belleh!!! I knew someone was going to make a Kung Fu Panda reference some day, brain boy.

"You think the Magus would have at least chosen someone who could touch his toes."

"Or see his toes."

Especially if he's fighting ankle height creatures

Two things 1) I was thinking Kraid would sound more like a REALLY fat black gangsta.

2) My theory is that the original Metroid game was the story the Galatic Federation fed the general populace after Samus defeated the pirates the first time on Zebes and Zero Mission, the remake, is the TRUE story. Meaning, the Kraid in the original Metriod was on PURPOSELY made smaller as a sort of cover up...
