And as you can see Magus is returning to his life of evil. I always figured that even though he joined forces with Crono and company, he never stopped being evil, he just put it aside to achieve his revenge against Lavos.
Actually, Magus was never evil to begin with. If you payed enough attention you'd know that he only helped Ozzie as a way to gain the power to exact revenge on Lavos. Although he never did much like humans, some part of him always blamed them for what happened to his home and his family.
Id chalk that up to a matter of personal opinion. Januss driving desire for revenge was evidence of his evil. Plus the fact that he aided a horrible evil just to achieve that goal is also evidence. He seemed to take great pleasure in what he did to Glenn, and showed no remorse for any of his actions while working with Ozzie. Magus exists solely to achieve his own goals and shows no regard to those who get caught up in his schemes. Even Ozzie who was the closest thing he had to a friend from a very young age was just a pawn to him, though I find it hard to believe he didnt learn a thing or two from him. Now Im not saying hes as evil as the space pirates, but hes definitely more evil that the Two Evil Scientists, even before they stopped trying to conquer the world.
I agree with ryan that Magus will do anything necessary to achive his goals. However I disagree that he would enjoy wantonly slaughtering Innocents. Not that he wouldn't slaughter them. Just that their lives or deaths have no significance to him one way or the other and whatever method would help him achieve his goals more quickly would be the one that he would take.
Why are some of the people standing still while everyone else is getting slaughtered?
Theyre paralyzed in fear
Yeah, Magus isn't really evil... but he does like to hurt things, Make him blat a metroid!
Metroids kill you in a terrifying way, they just suck out your energy without piercing your skin or draining any of your bodily fluids, your corpse wouldn't have a single mark on it.
why arn't metroids atacking the pirates as well?
The Prime games clearly show they can't be trained...
