Chrono Trigger fans will instantly recognize her, everyone else is probably more familiar with her recolor.

She was just turned to stone? Sheesh, magic is kind of broken...

Did she just have her energy drained?(like metroid victims)

Boy RyanMC, you sure know how to pull a rabbit out of a hat.

And now I'll be waiting to make that joke in 2ES... :|

Edit: Also, how do you defeat a final boss in only two comic strips? Easy, you off-panel the epic final blow. Although I can only assume no one stopped the apocalypse cannon yet...

?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!? I....have.....NO idea....whether this is actually a bad thing or a good thing....

Reply scytheholder, March 2nd, 2009, 6:55 pm

So...has Lavos 2 flashed Chrono, Marle, and Lucca? Or is this just another joke towards the future...OMG, I just remembered how confusing time is in CT, good god...somebody fetch me an article telling me every time issue in CT!

I never played Chrono Trigger, my best guess is that Lavos made the SAX do it's evil bidding, just so it can betray it's own host. Am I close?

I like how you can see her eyes in the second to last panel.
I can't seem to remember her name though, unfortunantly....

Schala? What are you doing there!

1!!!! Just 1 more till 0!!!

Reply XSarustaX, March 2nd, 2009, 9:28 pm

Ahh, the paradoxical secret boss of Chrono Trigger DS. -cough-

I don't see how you could have possibly planned this from the start, since CTDS wasn't out. Hurray for dynamic storyline adjustments!

I never played the DS version, but I played Chrono Cross in which the final boss is Schala and Lavos fused together and called the Time Devourer.

Spoilers for anyone who hasn't, but wants to play Chrono Cross without being spoiled

The Lavos-Schala is Schala from 12,000 BC. She merged with Lavos when it woke up the first time, and became the time devourer

The Schala who was possesed by the X-Parasites was the Lavos-Schala's Daughter-clone sent 13004 years into the future to lead a semi-normal life to be raised by Lucca and given the name "Kid"
