Nack has provided both the plan and the bait, Crono has been the one to deliver the kill, and all Samus has contributed is eating the X-Parasite when they're done. Sure that is a useful step since it prevents Nack and Crono from becoming infected, but that's not to say the two of them couldn't handle it without her.
I see the gaming in this, but wheres the humor? .-.
If that's not sarcasm, you deserve to be shot in the street and your carcass eaten by vultures.
Well let's be reasonable here, the SA-X, are cold unfeeling beings, making a joke just doesn't come naturally.
Also Samus wasn't really the funniest bounty hunter in the galaxy to begin with, so why should clones be funny either?
Third, the comic both tells jokes and a story, sometimes one excludes the other and in that case I think most people like me would rather have the story.
Fourth (and I know this is WAY more extensive than necessary) it's free.
But the short answer, is one strip back. And perhaps one strip forward, but I don't know the future.
Sorry if this seems offensive it's not intended to be but your post (not you) annoyed me.
By the by, that avatar is pretty cool.
Its you're saying this strip is funny, XSarustaX, please tell me what part of this strip is so called humorous.
@Unclever title: Thats just probing my point. If there are people that aren't funny, well then why is this comic labeled as humor?
CIWY, it's a humor-based comic. Not every comic will be humorous. Just like yours (I checked, its genre is humor, action, and gaming). Not all action scenes of yours can be (or are) entirely humorous or have a punch line.
No offense, but this isn't the right way to go to say something's either not funny or trying to help someone. No offense again, but you really come off as that "crap! CIWY made a comment!" kind of guy because sometimes what you say isn't necessarily helpful or nice.
Don't get me wrong, it's not ALL your comments, just saying, ease up a bit. Sometimes you actually do good in helping, but other times...meh.
One thing that you have to understand is that humor and funny are two completely separate things. Humor is what is presented, funny is how it is received. A simple example is the classic joke, "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side." Is it funny? No, but it's still humor. Why is it humor? Because it's a joke, and as a joke, you would expect the punchline to be funny. In other words, it's humor because it isn't funny.
So where is the humor in this strip? It's right there where you would expect to find it, in the fourth panel. Is it funny? Well that's up to you, but it doesn't mean the humor isn't there. If you don't see it, then either you don't understand the humor, or you don't understand why it's humor. If you don't understand why it humor, then I'll tell you, it's a observation of cosmic irony. The SA-X is basically saying that Samus isn't contributing. But if are a fan of the Metroid games then you know that Samus is usually able to complete impossible tasks on her own. This also makes it intellectual humor since you would have to be aware of these facts in order to see the humor, but most of the jokes I do require some knowledge of the games.
If you don't think this strip is funny, that's your opinion, maybe I'll do better next time. I still think it's funny, maybe not laugh outloud funny, but at least deserving of a slight smile while I try to keep the story moving. But funny or not, this is humor. All of my comics are humor, whether you see it or not. It's your opinion as to whether or not they're funny.
Great, Ryan stole my line ¬_¬
But as he said, it's only funny if you see it as funny. Take that old video of a granny kicking the baby like a rugby ball (or american football). Was THAT FUNNY? Half the internet says it is... half of the real world says the internet is full of sick monsters BECAUSE they found it funny. Key words, THEY found it funny. Not everyone laughs at ALL of a stand up comedians jokes, but there's always someone who does.
Plus with TV, when there's they are asked to laugh at something. They may not find it funny but laugh anyway. Why? Because without that laugh track in the show, NO ONE knows when to laugh. Watch a Friends episode without the laugh track and think about how much was funny. Then watch it with the laugh track. Either you'll question 'why was that funny', or you'll laugh because you think you're meant to laugh.
Which of course you're not meant to. American comedy in tv shows isn't exactly great (of course there are exceptions).
you've unlocked "lecture"
Alright fine, maybe this particular strip isn't exactly laughing out loud with hilarity, but Ryan has made me literally laugh out with a LOT of comics. (See: http://chronocrossover.smackjeeves.com/comics/94202/the-break-in-pt-8/ )
I think its very funny, they're basically fighting Samus' enemy here, yet SAMUS, the galaxy's most powerful bounty hunter is reduced to a sidekick/cleanup role. Its funny in that respect, not in the way that SA-X is making an attempt at sarcasm. At least thats how I get it.
CIWY, there's a character in comedy that's referred to as the "straight man." This has nothing to do with sexual preference, but the straight man is the guy who is unfunny, or doesn't get the joke, etc. Now I don't know if the SA-X could be considered as such but nearly every thing labeled as humor has people in it who are not funny.
I mean if everyone were hilarious then no one would be funny... right? Well it might not work exactly like that but I think you all get my point.
@Ryan: This may song strange coming from me, but I agree with you.
...And I'll try not to be as much as an asshole. I wasn't trying to be mean, I tried to make it more of" A reminder to make it more humorous". ^_^
I think you mean "make it funnier."
And I do appreciate you're trying to help, but as I said before, I do try to make every comic funny, but funny can be different things to different people. It would be more helpful to suggest a way to make the comic funnier, or even just tell me what you think is funny. After all, I really can't improve if I don't know how.
